From there we went down to the waterfront to cooking mamma. Had the best experience learning to cook pasta, tiramisu. Also knowledge of the limoncello and tomato sauce process. They are extremely knowledgeable of Italian cuisine. The experience was truly amazing Highly recommend them to anyone who wants the full Italian cooking and culture experience.Erin C2024-04-05Intimate, delicious, and amazing cooking class off the beaten path My mother and I had an absolutely lovely cooking class today with a new cooking company, Cooking Mama. They are based in the little town of Piano di Sorrento, which was a 15 minute ride by train or taxi from Sorrento. You start with a tour of their garden, then walk a few minutes to their private kitchen right on the water. It is out of the way of tourists, and this young couple absolutely loves what they do. They were so hospitable, we had so much fun cooking, eating, drinking, and getting to know Andrea and Salvatore!! Before we began cooking we took a tour of their fabulous garden with all of the fresh ingredients we would be using to cook. Salvatore and his family are fantastic. Our adventure started with a tour of their family garden plot (including a 70+ year old lemon tree), then a 10min walk down to the marina to the Cooking Mama kitchen. We made tiramisu, gnocchi, and enjoyed the best eggplant parmigiana I’ve ever eaten. Topped it off with some homemade limoncello. We could not have asked for anything else. This was for sure the highlight of our trip to Italy. Andrea and Salvatore were amazing. We made Gnocchi, Tiramasi, eggplant and caperese roll. They are super fun, helpful and excellent teachers.
